The team
at Prism have been developing, manufacturing, and supporting Radiotherapy
Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) for more than 20 years. Initially we
produced EMIPLAN, the first commercial system for CT based treatment planning.
Subsequently we developed GE's highly successful RT/Plan, Target, Target
Series2 and Target2 products.
The
transition of GE's radiotherapy business to Varian Oncology Systems has
not stopped this evolution. For Varian, as for GE, it is Prism in the
background that continues to design, develop, manufacture, and support
all of GE Medical Systems TPS products.
Now
that neither GE nor Varian are actively promoting this product, Prism
can no longer remain quietly behind the scenes, watching this heritage
fade into oblivion. We believe this product is not ready for retirement,
but has an important role to play in the treatment and care of cancer
patients.
Prism
now supports end users directly with a range of TPS workstation solutions,
systems, upgrades, software maintenance, remote technical support, spares
and parts repair programmes.
All
of our solutions use high performance Sun SPARC systems with the secure
and robust UNIX operating system to provide a reliable and stable computing
platform for the clinically proven application software.
Our
focus is on cost-effective practical solutions with an optimum balance
of speed, accuracy and content, to deliver workhorse systems capable of
continuously planning the majority of everyday radiation therapy treatments,
curative and palliative.
